The origin of the word Seersucker can be traced back to the Persian šir o šakar, "striped cloth," or literally, "milk and sugar," referring to the cloth's alternation of smoothness and puckered surface. Brittany is a special line from Roger La Viale that is 100% Cotton. The fabric is constructed on the compact side to accentuate the undulated effort.
